Beatles vs. Stones – A Musical Shoot Out

The British Invasion brought us the two most popular rock groups of all time, the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, as well as the liveliest debate in rock history – which band is the greatest? These two legendary bands will engage in an on-stage, mash-up duel – a musical “shoot out of the hits” if you will – featuring internationally renowned tribute bands, Abbey Road and Jumping Jack Flash.

“Electrifying show!” said the O.C. Register.

“The most unique tribute show in decades,” said the L.A. Times.

“The crowd was on their […]

About Dick Dale

The Dick Dale Phenomenon. His style is something different and unique. Since his first appearances Balboa, Ca. at the famed Rendezvous Ballroom, he has set and broken attendance records everywhere he’s performed. His appearances at the Rendezvous Ballroom broke every existing record for the Ballroom by drawing capacity crowds of over four thousand screaming dancing fans every weekend each night down on the Balboa peninsula.

Dick Dale invented surf music in the 1950’s. Not the ’60’s as is commonly believed. He was given the title “King of the Surf Guitar” by his fellow surfers with whom he […]

The Tubes at The Cave

By |March 30th, 2016|Categories: All Ages, Punk, Shows, The Cave|Tags: |Comments Off on The Tubes at The Cave

The Tubes formed in 1972 in San Francisco from two Phoenix bands after both relocated to San Francisco in 1969. The Beans featured Bill Spooner, Rick Anderson, Vince Welnick and Bob Macintosh, while The Red White and Blues Band featured Prairie Prince, Roger Steen and David Killingsworth. After playing the 1970 World’s Fair in Japan, David Killingsworth left the Red, White and Blues Band leaving Roger and Prairie to audition bass players unsuccessfully. The Beans had been a local favorite in Phoenix selling out shows with a tongue in cheek concept rock show called “The Mother of Ascension” featuring […]

Cash’d Out at The Cave

By |March 16th, 2016|Categories: All Ages, Classic Rock, Shows, The Cave, Tribute Act|Tags: |Comments Off on Cash’d Out at The Cave

About Cash’d Out

Over the past couple of decades, tribute bands have become big business in the world of concert promotion. And, not surprisingly, the more popular ones are the acts that are most authentic. Such is the case with Cash’d Out (Douglas Benson vocals, Kevin Manuel guitar, George Bernardo drums, and Stephen Rey bass), a San Diego based band, that channels Johnny Cash in about as close a manner to the real thing as it gets.

How can you tell?

Well, beyond critics having anointed Cash’d Out the “next best thing to Johnny Cash,” […]

Zeppelin USA at The Cave

By |March 16th, 2016|Categories: Classic Rock, Shows, The Cave, Tribute Act|Tags: |Comments Off on Zeppelin USA at The Cave

Bio

The songs remain the same….just a different approach

Zeppelin USA (ZUSA for short) is all about the music and spirit of Led Zeppelin. When the members of ZUSA formed, a clear decision had to be made. We could have easily donned the blonde “Robert Plant” wig, the dragon suit a la Jimmy Page, the 3 rings on the kick drum, etc. as so many other Zep tributes have done. But we knew that in order to set ourselves apart from the pack we had to choose a different path. To stand on the music only, we know we’re going […]

Donavon Frankenreiter at The Cave

By |March 15th, 2016|Categories: All Ages, Rock, Shows, The Cave|Tags: |Comments Off on Donavon Frankenreiter at The Cave

About Donavon Frankenreiter

Donavon Frankenreiter’s new album, “The Heart,” officially marks the start of the singer-songwriter’s second decade as a solo recording artist. It’s been over ten years since the release of his self-titled debut, and in that time he has grown, not only as a musician, but also as a man. He’s raising a family and nurturing two creative careers-one onstage, one in the waves-but on top of all that, he’s still learning what makes him tick. And so, naturally, he named his album after his ticker.

“All these songs are as close to me singing from the heart as […]

Desperado at The Cave

By |March 15th, 2016|Categories: All Ages, Classic Rock, Shows, The Cave|Tags: |Comments Off on Desperado at The Cave

Bio Highlights

Desperado, Southern California’s Premier Eagles Tribute, is just that. With five lead vocalists and instrumentalists who have honed their musical skills in a variety of professional projects, “Desperado” is truly a cut above their counterparts with their “all live presentation” (no backing tracks or samplers used in their show) of the most popular band of the 70’s, the Eagles. Singing the Eagles soaring harmonies while executing the guitar parts and rhythm track to perfection, Desperado challenges the listener to tell the difference between what is being played live and what the original recordings sound like.

Spinning off […]
