About Cash’d Out
Over the past couple of decades, tribute bands have become big business in the world of concert promotion. And, not surprisingly, the more popular ones are the acts that are most authentic. Such is the case with Cash’d Out (Douglas Benson vocals, Kevin Manuel guitar, George Bernardo drums, and Stephen Rey bass), a San Diego based band, that channels Johnny Cash in about as close a manner to the real thing as it gets.
How can you tell?
Well, beyond critics having anointed Cash’d Out the “next best thing to Johnny Cash,” and the group having won six San Diego Music Awards for Best Tribute Band, and being the only tribute band endorsed by the official Johnny Cash web page, JohnnyCash.com, the real proof lies in what members of Cash’s inner circle have said. “Cindy Cash came to a show, we made […]
The songs remain the same….just a different approach
Zeppelin USA (ZUSA for short) is all about the music and spirit of Led Zeppelin. When the members of ZUSA formed, a clear decision had to be made. We could have easily donned the blonde “Robert Plant” wig, the dragon suit a la Jimmy Page, the 3 rings on the kick drum, etc. as so many other Zep tributes have done. But we knew that in order to set ourselves apart from the pack we had to choose a different path. To stand on the music only, we know we’re going to be judged hard in that respect. And so, we focus on getting the right tones, vocal inflections, our mix out front, borrowing a little from the studio versions here, the live versions there…much attention is spent on delivering a true sonic Zep experience.
But we also believe in entertainment. The […]
About Donavon Frankenreiter
Donavon Frankenreiter’s new album, “The Heart,” officially marks the start of the singer-songwriter’s second decade as a solo recording artist. It’s been over ten years since the release of his self-titled debut, and in that time he has grown, not only as a musician, but also as a man. He’s raising a family and nurturing two creative careers-one onstage, one in the waves-but on top of all that, he’s still learning what makes him tick. And so, naturally, he named his album after his ticker.
“All these songs are as close to me singing from the heart as I can,” says Frankenreiter. “It’s a complete record; the songs are intertwined. I had to call it ‘The Heart,’ that was the theme of the record.”

Cubensis Offers Live Perspective on the Dead
The West’s Top Tribute Act Performs Entire Grateful Dead Show Recreations
Since 1987, Los Angeles-based band Cubensis has carried the torch in celebration of one of America’s most beloved touring bands, the Grateful Dead. Cubensis sets out to re-create the Grateful Dead experience by emulating the sounds of Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, and the rest of the legendary San Francisco jam band. Cubensis plays completly spontaneous shows covering all eras of the Grateful Dead, and no night is ever the same. Cubensis is far more than just your standard cover band as they bring the magic and sounds to those longing for the live vibe that only the Grateful Dead was able to deliver. “This is not imitation,” cautions lead guitarist Craig Marshall, “This is the real deal. We’re satisfying our musical curiosities like they did, by exploring improvisational frontiers. When […]
Desperado, Southern California’s Premier Eagles Tribute, is just that. With five lead vocalists and instrumentalists who have honed their musical skills in a variety of professional projects, “Desperado” is truly a cut above their counterparts with their “all live presentation” (no backing tracks or samplers used in their show) of the most popular band of the 70’s, the Eagles. Singing the Eagles soaring harmonies while executing the guitar parts and rhythm track to perfection, Desperado challenges the listener to tell the difference between what is being played live and what the original recordings sound like.
Spinning off from another well-known Eagles tribute band, leader and founding member Aaron Broering spent years putting together just the right combination of musicians to continue his dream of performing these well-crafted songs with the highest of skill. Recruiting performers who have traveled the world performing with The Beach Boys, Dick Dale, […]

Don’t call it hick-hop — not unless you want a squint-eyed glare and a little (playful) attitude from Moonshine Bandits.
Sure, intense rhymes spin through parts of Blacked Out, the latest and greatest album to date from MSB, a.k.a. Bird and Tex, two good ol’ boys from California’s Central Valley. But there’s a lot more than that in their 100-proof grooves. Crunchy guitar, Southern rock swagger — hell, there’s even some vocal harmony in the mix.
You see, long before people figured out that country and rap had a lot in common, Bird and Tex were blending these styles and pouring other influences into the mix. The result was a highly flammable combination, so daring that most of those who heard it couldn’t figure out how to react.

Based in Los Angeles, Hollywood U2 is the World’s Greatest U2 Tribute Band.
Hollywood U2 is the most authentic tribute to U2. Bono Approved, lead singer Joe Hier sang live on stage with Bono and U2 on their recent i.e Tour.
They performed in front of millions for Mark Cuban and Ryan Seacrest’s network television show on AXS.tv “The World’s Greatest Tribute Bands” and made history on the show by being the first band ever to be invited back for a second extended live TV performance.
Bono himself said that Joe Hier was the split of him, and that he had a beautiful voice. A tribute band cannot receive higher praise then that of the band it pays tribute to.
As U2 fans themselves it’s important for them to pay tribute to U2’s Iconic tours with the accuracy and heart the music deserves. They perform songs that span U2’s 30+ year career.
