||Vesely released his first album with a brand new record label on an incredibly underdeveloped social media platform. Despite the obstacles, the album quickly became a social sensation. They launched extremely successful tours, appeared on a myriad of television shows, and shot to the top of the radio charts. Now, after 10 […]
Rob Elfaizy is the front man of Dead Man’s Party, the Oingo Boingo tribute band. Rob has been playing music for his entire life, since before he could even hold an instrument. He was a student of the Suzuki method, which is a high caliber system for musical education. He has played violin, classical guitar, and piano. He was drawn to the electric after he got older, taking influences from bands like Oingo Boingo. After Boingo had broken up, he started to play shows their songs as a tribute. It turned out that there was quite a demand for Oingo Boingo music and he had emulated the band well. Rob had been so successful that the original members had heard about them through the grape vine. With Boingo founder Richard Elfman’s approval of the DMP’s legitimacy, they quickly grew into a […]
Pyromania, the #1 Def Leppard tribute, is a perfect recreation of the music Def Leppard had brought to the table. After 14 years of developing their act, Pyromania has made itself known as the next best thing to Def Leppard. Even Def Leppard themselves has promoted Pyromania and their efforts to honor the band. Setting numerous attendance records, the band has been voted the third best tribute band of all time.
” After reviewing our choices, it was unanimous that Pyromania is the best Def Leppard tribute band…”
– Katie Daryl, producer of The World’s Greatest Tribute Bands on AXS TV
Many tribute bands will dress up and talk the talk, but those who walk the walk don’t need to talk about it. Pyromania is one of the tribute bands that walk the walk, and let their performance speak for them. A quote from an engineer sheds light on how accurately Pyromania emulates […]
Blue Oyster Cult is an incredibly insightful and imaginative band. Their music and lyrics are rather articulate in the way it is structured and conveyed, and certainly not among the status quo in the niche of rock and roll. Yet, despite the subtle complexities in the arrangements of their music, they still manage to deliver it in a package that the average person can easily understand and digest.
Originally named multiple times, the band had been through a lot of changes. The most notable of original names is Soft White Underbelly, which is a reference to Winston Churchill’s perception of Italy in World War II. He had seen Italy as the weak spot he could take advantage of to defeat Germany. The name Blue Oyster Cult comes from a poem the manager had written about a group of blue aliens who clandestinely […]
The legendary 70’s rock band, The Eagles, has made a huge impact on the world. From the radio to Guitar Hero, their music has spread across every outlet and into the ears of the masses. The content of their music has inspired the work of a myriad of musicians throughout their compelling history, as well as served as a corner stone in the lives of the average person.
Calling upon the basic inner workings of the human psyche, The Eagles often touches the hearts of almost every person that hears their music. With general concepts particularized for the average person, they can always relate to their audience. Hotel California, for example, is about consumerism in California and the propaganda served to romanticize California life. Lead guitarist Don Felder spoke about it in an interview. “As you’re driving in Los Angeles at night, […]
Oingo Boingo has had a rather interesting history. As they formed in 1972 under The Mystic Knights of Oingo Boingo, their goal was to develop a interdisciplinary performance art act. The leader of the band is Danny Elfman, an American composer and songwriter, who has completed extensive works in film scores with industry legends such as Tim Burton. The band put together a theatrical performance with an eclectic mix of ska, rock, pop, and world music. As the band evolved, they transformed into an 8 piece ska influenced new wave band. As they went through this transformation, they decided to shorten their name to Boingo. Since then, they achieved significant success until their retirement in 1995. In their last show before retirement, they looked back at their history and called themselves Oingo Boingo in a fit of reminiscent and conclusive nostalgia.
Now, to […]
Visions is a high quality tribute band that accurately emulates the music of Rush. While the wardrobe and physical props are the only focus for most tribute acts, Visions focuses on the music above all else. With a rather sophisticated repertoire, Rush’s music is not easy to replicate. Their progressive style will test even the most solid musicians, from the abnormal harmonic and melodic structures to the subtle nuances their song writing styles manifest. Rush’s music is so particular that there aren’t many tribute acts that honor them, much less successfully satisfy the ear of the dedicated Rush fan.
Rush has some of the most entertaining performances in modern rock history. Their fresh and unpredictable instrumental music always keeps you on your feet, with constant changes and twists that the normal rock band cannot compete with. At the same time, their lively and insightful lyrics will encourage you to let […]
