Martha Davis and The Motels Coming to The Cave in Big Bear!

The Cave in Big Bear Village is hosting an evening with Martha Davis and The Motels on June 28. Tickets for this show, which start at just $17, are on sale now.
The Motels were a Los Angeles area band that gained national acclaim for their 1983 hits “Only the Lonely” and “Suddenly Last Summer,” both of which still receive radio airplay today. In 1998, original lead singer Martha Davis reformed the band under the new name Martha Davis and The Motels. Since then, other original members have rejoined the band, and they have gone on to record more material and perform for live audiences from coast to coast.

Martha Davis and The Motels have since performed as the opening act for many beloved 1980s musical acts, including other female-led bands such as The Go-Go’s and The Bangles; they will join The Go-Go’s for a U.S. tour this summer, and are recording a new album to be released later this year. They also performed at a sold-out show at the legendary Whisky a Go Go in Los Angeles that celebrated the venue’s 50th anniversary.

According to The Cave proprietor Dave Stone, acts like Martha Davis and The Motels are exactly what local audiences are craving. “Many of our local residents came of age in the 1980s,” he said. “They grew up listening to The Motels and bands like them on the radio. We’re excited to welcome an act of their caliber to Big Bear.”

Berlin (featuring its original lead singer, Teri Nunn), a band that achieved tremendous success in the 1980s with hits such as “Take My Breath Away” and “The Metro,” will perform at The Cave on July 18. Tickets for either of these shows can be purchased by calling (877) 825-4388, or online at
