Welcome to your personal guide to Big Bear!

There is so much to do in Big Bear, and sometimes it can be rather overwhelming to decide your plan of action. That is why we have made this simple guide to your trip to Big Bear from a local’s perspective!
We know all of the ins and outs of the town, and now you have some insider knowledge on that info! There are a lot of places to hang out around The Village – Big Bear Lake’s downtown area. So many amazing restaurants, bars, and hang outs of every kind. We recommend the following game plan:

There is sure to be a restaurant that suits your preference and diet. There are all kinds of places, from burger joints to high class dining. I would recommend The Big Bear lake Brewing Company, which has some amazing food all prepared with the highest quality ingredients. You can get anything from breakfast, poke,  steak, burgers, salad, homemade beer, and of course, some sweet finishes. Their avocado bomb is the most popular dish.

If you’d like a restaurant that specialized in burgers, Fire Rock Burgers and Brews is the place for you. Fire Rock is a high quality restaurant with a legendary music theme. It’s an amazing place to spend your afternoon with games like giant jenga!

If you prefer a traditional cafe style experience, you will like Teddy Bears. It has a homey environment, amazing staff, and a goo menu choice.

Whether you prefer a chill atmosphere with a talented musician playing in the background for you, or a full on concert, the village has everything you seek. The Cave has concerts every Friday and Saturday on a world class stage. This weekend, we are having 80’s night on Friday, and The Crystal Method on Saturday. The Crystal Method is an amazing band that plays live electronic music, with an amazing live production. These guys are the real deal!

If you prefer a more chill atmosphere, but still wants to enjoy a professional musician, The Oakside has music all though the day and evening on their relaxing patio and beautiful bar. 572 Social also has music throughout the day and a great patio to enjoy the pristine Big bear weather. Wherever you go, there is fun to be had!

Bar Hopping!

After you fill your belly and enjoy some entertainment, it’s time to take the party up a couple notches! There are several high quality bars in The Village. The most notable are 572 Social, Oakside, Murray’s, and Whiskey Daves. Each has a different but equally pleasing atmosphere, and we recommend you try all of them!

Summer Crochet-A-Long, Stevie Nicks Style Circular Vest at Yarn Designers Boutique!

Friday Nights from June 22nd-July 27th, 6-8pm

Crochet along with designer Gena Hester as she shows you all the ins and outs of creating her stunning summer vest. This is a 5-6 week session (depending on the pace of the group) that will meet on Friday nights 6-8pm.

This is a great project that can be worn multiple ways. Once you get your gauge right, I’ll show you how to adapt this vest to any size, so if you’re looking for a creative project to share with your teen during the summer holidays why not create this beautiful project together?

If you need to learn to crochet in advance of this CAL please drop in to our free classes and help session on Tuesdays 4-6pm, and Saturdays 3-5pm.

Each session is formatted so that we walk you through the tricky bits and get you started on the stitch pattern that you will need to repeat and work on in between weekly sessions. If at any point during the week you get stuck on your pattern, or if you can’t make a Friday session and you need to make it up, you’re always welcome to drop in to our help sessions as well, Tuesdays 4-6 and Saturdays 3-5pm.

Our last session will end in a Friday night excursion into town where we all show off our vests!
